New spine again today, so disjointed…but 2 pts
I’d play Hankinson at 6…powerful and fast over a short distance..Atkin ineffective at 6

Joe Mellor won us that match. His go fwd from dummy half made the difference.

Well two points is two points after all. The points difference is improved and we are back in the play offs.
But yeah the first half was mediocre. As Rowley said in his post match interview on the Beeb, this team is tired. And the fortnight till the next game is needed.
My feelings have to be coloured by this. The performance up front looked more creative and cohesive with Mellor and Dudson on. MacDonald, Hankinson and Lafai all played well in the second half and overall Sneyd was the lead throughout. Sadly Ormondroyd is out thanks to that crusher tackle at Leigh.
Disappointingly low crowd. Mystery to me given it seems a 1000 supporters plus have drifted off.
Nice day to sit out in the Bartonian 🌞 sun. But aside from it won’t be remembered.
Got to be optimistic. I think every Salford season should start with the aim to reach ten wins to ward off relegation. With half the season gone we already have eight.
Statistically to qualify for the play offs you need 14 wins. So that is basically six in 14. London, FC twice and Cas. Yeah it’s possible.👍
But we need to much much better. In the stands and on the pitch.

Ormondroyd is out for the season so we need this Lewis to hit the ground running and king to get back

Can’t work out what’s happening with king struggling for forwards and 2matches he’s 18th man!both games he’s been running up and down touchline so it’s strange!the biggest worry again is the crowd,2800 last year we had some good crowds and still had to sell our best players so I think we’re heading for big trouble again if things don’t improve!

In the short term the club need to try find some money if we sell players again the crowds will drop yet again. It’s a bad cycle we are in hopefully the stadium deal helps With king it’s mad having 1 prop on the bench is crazy a better team would of destroyed us today like beinek did, who we should be going for I’d happily let king go this year and try for another prop

It’s worrying with the attendance fixtures like this and Catalan we have to do something different to bring the fans in but this weekend irlam live is on and it’s been a nice weekend after all the rain we’ve had some people might have gone away since it’s nice
Again tho we shouldn’t relay on fans coming in need to find other ways of raising funds to keep the club going and keep players

It's a difficult one to assess.
In my opinion, for what it's worth, I think we have been disjointed in attack all season so far due to lack of a solid six. You add a sprinkle of injuries and bans into a team light on bodies and particularly forwards. A pinch of rotating players covering the spine, and we are left with a recipe for disaster...
...Yet disaster hasn't happened. I think this is mainly due to our defence being way better this season than in previous which is helping to paper over the cracks in attack. Credit to the backroom staff and the players punching way above their weight. As for the London game, well, first half was pretty dire. Very little power and penetration going forward. Second half was much better. Attitude and execution improved and the game ran away from London. You can only beat what's in front of you and another two points in the bag.
We sit in the play-offs and have secured some of our better wins for many a year, yet I still feel like we're not playing our best stuff. Strange season.
