I’d play Connell at full back , Morgan in halves with sneyd , mellor at hook and atkin on bench so he can cover all positions maybe have Hankinson on bench as well so he can also cover the full back

Surely Ryan fb, Hankinson wing…but we only have a squad of 20 and it depends who’s really fit McDonald and Sneyd didn’t look good last week
So maybe Connell fb, Hankinson centre, Morgan scrum half

More like playing Hankinson at full back atkin in halves and with 4 forwards on the bench We rarely give any young players a proper chance I think our bi-polar fanbase has as much to do with that as anything mate. Were only ever 2 losses away from 40% of them calling for the coach to be sacked (in fairness were only ever 3 wins on the bounce away from them saying we will win it all aswell), that being the case I can understand the reluctance to expose young players to that kind of environment until they are 100% sure they are ready for it. If you bring kids in against London and we win, then its only London and so we should. If they come in and we dont then its because theyre not ready/good enough and the coach shouldnt have taken the chance. The bigger clubs can afford to blood young players as there win record in general is less precarious than ours. |

I spoke with a local lad few years ago I asked why he didn’t choose Salford academy he said because the chances of making it too first team is low so it’s better to go to another club who promotes younger lads |

Look I get what your saying but I’d only play one of them it’s a results based game and we are still in a shot of top 6 Morgan and Wilson for me |

Look at I think 2018 and 2019 when Martin gleeson was academy head coach we won the league and I believe some players was given first team contracts but if i remember correctly some or most never played a first team game that season
If I was a young player and im in selection to play a first team game id be absolutely buzzing and doing whatever I can to get picked but if i dont then okay let’s hope they will be another chance coming soon and if that chance doesn’t come again id be fuming that i didnt get a proper chance to prove myself

I’d like to see Connell given a shot. All I expect is at least 4 Props in 1-17, Rowleys experiment with one prop and Hanky the forward has not worked. Play players in their intended positions. I think Mellor and Shorrocks will cover 9 with Wilson on debut.
