Great win and two points. But why do we make the last 20 minutes so hard to watch . Penalties Penalties. The referee had a good game. Made the right decision in both potential Penalty try claims. Yes we just play for position and possession inbut we seem to lack intensity when we get on top like that…and keep giving away silly penalties. The ref a few decisions we couldn’t work out…signalling missing sometimes..six again, have a clue, with Rowley on this, and offside at the ptb, I even checked the rule…mystery at times But a good win. As Sneyd says 2 pts but not really at their best Bourouh gets better each March…impressive..Mellor, ok but will improve |

Enjoyed today. Very good bounce back. We took the foot of the gas last 10-15 minutes and the edges came in too quick on multiple times which is still an ongoing worry.
Cust was good today.
What’s up with Nofoaluma? Whilst I like Cross, I don’t think he’s a super league winger. Surely if he’s fit he starts over Cross? Thought Ryan did well today in attack
Anyone get a 150 year medal? Surely all the “owners” must receive one?

We played much better today, so am glad to see something got sorted after the previous 85 minutes. I think it just came down to the pack winning to be honest, they just dominated and was great that brierley finally turned up this season and was able to benefit from it. Partington was mom for me , was probably the best I've seen him play for us. Think cust seems to ease some burden on sneyd, as he's really been able to step up this year. No finer sight than watching him boss everyone about  |

Chinese billionaires buying the club. Had a chat with them afterwards in the posh bar in west stand and they're reinstating Marwan as CEO. Degsy will be his #2 and JJR will be at beck & call to serve them in platinum dining.😉
Joking aside, very happy with the win tonight. As said we try to put a bit of jeopardy into the result with a few dodgy plays the last 20 mins but we were good value for the win.
Couple of minor gripes to air but I'll leave that until tomorrow and enjoy my 4-pack of Strongbow on the last train home to Southport instead.

A great win, was not sure why Rowley wanted three hookers in the 17? Thought Mellor was excellent in his first spell. Sneyd is running the show for us, again he was awesome yesterday. Partington also stood out and MacDonald played well. All in all a decent performance. Now to the negative we cannot defend on our edges, Cross got done twice yesterday and even worse was Ryan being caught out twice when Hanley scored this is a recurring theme unfortunately. Time to play Norfoalumo a specialist winger, he was not selected this week but is training well. When your 16 points up you do not need your winger being 5 yards in front of the centre. We are about to play the two worse teams in the league, so time to put our edge defence right.

I was concerned about the bench but they worked hard I’d imagine when dudson and singo are back the bench will look different it’s a 3 way battle for the 2 hooker spots |

I'd imagine Atkin is guaranteed one of those two spots given his versatility, leaving Mellor and Bourouh to fight it out for the second spot. Personally, I'd have Mellor because of his experience in the halves, it gives him the edge creatively.
I thought Partington was back to his best and I hope we can keep hold of him (hopefully our money issues are sorted soon). Mellor was great too, especially considering it's his first game with a new club after an injury layoff. Sneyd has been phenomenal this year. He's responded brilliantly to the added burden put upon him after we lost Croft. Brierley, Lafai, and Nene are class and our second rowers have been quality all season. We just need to get some of our bigger bodies back. I assume Nofo isn't 100%, he clearly wasn't right in the game he did play so fair play for putting his hand up.
I agree on the edge defence, though I can't help but think that's how Rowley wants them to defend — very aggressively. It's been a problem in each season Rowley has been coach, so I assume that's his tactic. Sometimes it works and plays are closed down but I think teams have adapted to this style of defence now (cut out passes, balls over the top, and kicks in behind). Personally, I think this style of defence is outdated on the edge and the tip teams don't defend that way. I'd prefer to see out outside players hold back and slide, and back off as they slide if necessary. The attacking team will run themselves out of space and we give up yards but not a clean break. I know there are times you have to be very aggressive but the vast majority of the time we don't need to be.
If we can get everybody fit I'd top with:
Brierley
Nofo
Nene
Lafai
Cross
Cust
Sneyd
Singleton
Mellor
Ormonroyd
Stone
Watkins
Partington
Atkin
Dudson
King
Wright
People won't agree with me but I'd actually swap Atkin or Mellor with Cust. I think Cust would be a better 9 and we looked good with Atkin at 6 against Saints (after Cust went off) and Wigan.
