Not normally one to blame a ref for a loss and the players had a hand in it but what a shocking performance by the official.
I was stood with a friends Saints fan father in law and he agreed that is was dire and dire for both teams, some of his decisions were beyond poor and he seems to have re written the signs for various offences and especially the last tackle.
We can't expect to be a highly successful sport when we have such inept officials ruining it.
I'd guess he might be demoted to the Championship after that performance.

I was told by a mate that he'd reffed us earlier in the season,in an away game, and was incompetent. I feel sorry for the guy,but he was bloody useless, and promoted far above his ability. The crowd were running the game and, whenever he wasn't sure,he went with the crowd decision. He stopped signalling the last tackle, and lost the players. He didn't cost us the game, though.

I agree, ruined what could have been a free flowing high scoring game with some crazy decisions.
We are our own worst enemies at times but yesterday we had admirable help in our efforts to lose from the ref.

Firstly the referee wasn't to blame for our loss, but Jesus how inept was he? Bowed to every bit of pressure from the home fans and made some extremely dubious calls. Pulling play back for Carney pushing was ridiculous, I could understand it if he had thrown a punch. There was also the Ryan Lannon try where he clearly grounded the ball and despite his great positioning didn't award it.
The standard of officiating this season is certainly at an all time low.

Josh Griffin alluded to it during the Q&A done with him; that there needs to be a video ref at every game, not just the televised ones.
