Salford Red Devils have swooped to sign winger Justin Carney from Castleford Tigers, beating off a host of top Clubs competing for his signature.
Carney, who has been on loan at the AJ Bell Stadium this season has signed for the remainder of this season and the next three years.
Justin said: “I feel right at home at Salford, Marwan was there from day dot for me and there are a lot of people like Dobson, Hauraki and Sa’u I have played with previously and I work well with.
“There are a lot of good people here so why would I leave?
Head Coach Ian Watson said: “Justin is a real good bloke to have around the place. He is a great influence on the group and a hugely competitive professional.
“He wants to win things and you see that in his attacking play. He is a 100 miles per hour player and he is the top metre maker in the competition this year. That’s a big plus for any team.”
Carney will return to face his former club in the next round of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup.

Great signing but I think the most pleasing thing is how he talks about the club. Its nice to hear good things after the last couple of years, and some of the things which have come out from players who have left.

Excellent signing, just need to get him to stop taking the bait and he could be one of the best in the league.

Who would have guessed eh? Great signing that and shows genuine ambition from the club to tie such a high quality player down to such a lengthy contract. Carney had plenty of interest but chose to remain with us, good sign. Michigan Red - I think what you see is what you get with Carney. You've just got to take the good with the bad. Annoying as it might seem.

I thought we were told by an unnamed person that he was signing for Wigan?

Great news. I get the feeling that Carney has been happy about the support he has received from the Club and MK. He's obviously settled looking at how he is performing. Well done to everyone concerned at getting the deal sorted.

Great for not only for the club to have kept hold of such a fantastic player, but to hear such positive comments in regards to the people at the club. Who would have thought we'd be hearing comments like that 12 months ago.
