Something I've noticed on twitter recently is how much the players are now out visiting local clubs and schools, really glad to see that. Even ventured to Woolston before the Warrington game, the more they get out and engage the kids, and their parents, can only be positive. Another big well done to the club on that front from me!

The links with local clubs have been building since Marwan came in. It's a bit of a slow burn but they are putting on free training for local coaches to get their badges, they have a regular meeting with all the local clubs, took Easter eggs round to training sessions, have training sessions for u13s and 14s to build links with Academy, had the tournaments last week before the Leeds game and regularly have players and academy coaches out helping with training sessions with the kids. Plus stuff they're doing with the schools. They have aims of getting most of the Academy from Salford and their development areas within a few years which they have already started moving towards. So all positive stuff. Can always be better and they actively seek clubs' opinions to improve it. It's a shame the pitch isn't up to having HT matches on as that would add a lot I think but not much they can do about that yet. They have active and visible commitment to all this from Tim Sheens, Ian Watson, Gareth Carvell and Adrian Morley plus the Foundation team It is a long term strategy that they need to persevere with but so far so good

Bit of an aside but does anyone have any progress reports on the school who played one half time from the Hulme/Moss side area? They were all massive, extremely quick and athletic. Seem to remember at the time that a load of them were being looked at and Salford were busing a few of them in to training.
