We are on 22 points now. To make it into the Top 6 realistically 28 or 30 points typically will do it. The next four games are huge in our Top 6 ambitions.
Cats Away - The hardest game, Cats away is always a challenge. A win here is not expected and is a bonus.
Hudd's Away - Just sacked their coach, Hudds season is gone. This is very winnable, and we have a good record at Hudd's away.
Cas Home - An improving side managing to get some recent wins however we must be focused on beating Cas at Home. The table does not lie.
Leeds Home - Leeds are poor, they just lost Newman for a few weeks and do not look a top 6 side. I'd have us as favorites v Leeds or current form.
I think 4 points from the next four games is the minimum expectation, realistically 6 points is attainable that gets us into a Top 6 spot.

Get play offs cemented then rest those players who are close to playing too many games then have be on sideline anyway

We should be aiming for 3rd or 4th to give us a home game first up. 2nd is still possible but need some good wins against top 4 teams to achieve that.

I wonder if Rowley wants to secure that play off place and then try a negotiate an improved contract than the one that’s on the table ?
He’ll be in a stronger bargaining position once he’s guaranteed the play offs.

He’ll be in a stronger bargaining position once he’s guaranteed the play offs. Rowley wants 2nd place he wants to be as high as possible. Watching Wigan v Saints last night both teams are beatable. Wigan are poor in attack without French and Field and Saints look average though they had lots missing. Might be the year an unfancied team in the top 6 gets to Old Trafford.

Injuries to the Centre's aside our limitations were exposed last night, we need to consider the following moving forward:
Last man defense, Brierley this season has been continually exposed to opposition kicks, yesterday he was out of position to stop Rouge, what a soft try, in the line for the 2nd - Cats kicked and saw this and then was walking across for the third try again a kick. Call me old fashioned but a great defensive full back runs across the line to cover. I'd prefer Hankinson at 1 his D is much better than Brierley's he also returns the ball well.
No idea at 6 - Atkins has had his chance at 6 and is not creating enough, we have options with Mellor, Cust and Brierley all being able to play as a 6. We need more structure otherwise we will not improve.
Our Forwards need to battle. Our best Prop Lewis went off with a HIA yesterday, our forwards need to put in a shift both King and Duson were poor, perhaps it is time to give Pye a debut, we have players coming back from injury.
Hudds away and Cas at home are now must win games to cement top 6.

Brierleys backline covering is always poor…never follows the ball across…but he’s not a natural fb Yes Hankinson to 1, Brierley to 6
Sadly Dudson looks finished..but is he playing with an injury
King V, seems lazy or injured?
We were taken early yesterday before we got into the game, inc a v forward pass then beaten up…helped by a poor ref ( offsides and ptb infringements ignored) But we stuck at it and in the second half were the team on top but for some reason we tried to force the play and our attack collapsed…but with 3 backs out and a tiring pack…effectively only two subs …in 30C heat we did ok for me
So we stuck in the fight didn’t give in and came away with some pride for me
Remember as well, Catalan is effectively the French national team, having the pick of all French players and able to buy top overseas players…always biased towards them in France

Agree re 2nd half and some pride.

I actually spoke to Rowls about Brierley and his covering defence and we disagreed..but what do I know?
To me it’s his awareness, that usually comes naturally…he seems out of position and then moves late..where a second makes all the difference
He'd be much better at 6 for me now we have Hankinson

I’d love to see young Connell get a chance.
