This is a topic that's been peeving me for a while now.
How long do you think it will be before the rest of RL starts giving us a little more respect?
If you read other clubs forums, when they speak about us, I'd say only one in ten ever give us any respect. It's always 'Should be beating teams like Salford' which shows that we're still considered fodder for the top half of SL. It's always other teams having off days when they play us rather than Salford being the better team. That's a hell of a coincidence hey? It's not just fans either. The press and RL media continue to use language that belittles. Sometimes it's obvious and other times it's subtle. I also think that this bias is so ingrained that a lot of people don't realise that they do it. For what it's worth, I don't think players think like this as they have to face us on the pitch, and our respect levels have increased dramatically over the last few years in this area. Players no longer see us as a last paycheck. They are seeing a club that can revitalise players and bring the best out in them. I just wonder how long it will be for the rest of SL to show us a little more respect?
I'm guessing it may never change eh?

It's not likely to change any time soon. Similarly see the squad for England v France. No salford representatives. We are 5th in the league, 2 points off the 2nd spot. You'd think there'd be one or two that should be given the chance to prove their worth at international level v France. Deon Cross, Sneyd, Kallum, even Mellor given his recent form. Same goes for Rowley, he's done wonders over the past few years and the style of rugby we play doesn't go un-noticed and admired by all, how has he not been brought into the England camp ?
I wouldn't want to risk injury ahead of the last half of the season but how Cas and Hudds have got players in the England squad ahead of some of the Salford team is beyond me.

I’m glad they are all having a week off. Tough few months coming up. Rest up and come back firing on all cylinders.

I actually love these types of comments, I like being the underdog and love rubbing their noses in when we win. Top six we narrowly got beat by Wigan (first time out), we've beaten saints twice Warrington twice KR once, let them call us little Salford and let's keep making mugs of them, suits me fine.

I don't think other teams see us as underdogs,I think they see us a good team with a very good coach. Are we respected by other fans we are by those that are not one eyed.

That's a fair point. Do we want to turn into those other types of fans? I'd say not.

Do most other fans respect anybody…do a lot of them know what respect is?
Respect has to be earned…and we’ve earned it…and I think the pundits, the media and most other coaches respect what Rowley, his coaching staff and the team have achieved.
I just wish we could have a settled team for 3 or 4 years then we could push respect down other teams supporters throats
