I called what would happen, a pathetic team selection with a smaller forward and Hankinson on the bench against Wigans 3 x big props. Don’t need to be Sherlock to work out what happens, King was not selected and if Sidlow is not fit get rid. We were setup to lose with that 17 and that’s on Rowley no excuse. We need to drop Atkin and Cust as a starting 6 because neither cut it, I’d put Mellor there v London and play Bourouh and Atkin at 9. There is no way that attendance is 4,087 So you have told what you would have done if you had been in charge the one thing we will never know if you would have got a different outcome🤔

Lots of injuries, couple of defensive errors, some strange reffing decisions, people having to play out of position, Wigan on a roll….not too bad a day really. (Wigan subs better than our pack) But sadly no atmosphere and a v poor crowd
Given the injuries what would your team have been M?

Play players in their position King was fit. Rowley sometimes plays players out of position, Hankinson is not a 2nd row. Cust is out for 6 weeks and Bourouh was withdrawn. Not sure about Dixon?

The attendance was a joke, we’ve had a magnificent week off the field and we only muster 4-5k in. Not sure why some fans don’t turn up when we play the best team In the league. Wigan bought 1,200, we need our fans turning up each week,

Wigan brought 1200 maybe more there fans had half term family commitments etc there lies the problem and again I know the club can do better before anyone says it’s the clubs fault the public of Salford do not support the rugby team it’s a fact!look back even back to the great teams of the seventies it’s a myth we ever got big crowds!

It seems we were so busted yesterday that Rowley said to Hankinson you might be playing as a prop, 9 or wing…that probably part explains the situation….King V was he fit….probably not but nobody else to go as 18
I quite enjoyed the formation….set up to run Wigans forwards about but sadly we couldn’t keep hold of the ball.
For next week, yes Bouroh at 9, Mellor or Shorrocks at 6 and rest Sneyd for Atkin at 7

I thought we were beat as soon as the whistle went to start the game, not only because we were playing Wigan, but just look at the squads on the field aswell as those on the bench. To be able to interchange two big forwards like Mago & Dupree just shows you the difference....we just cant compete....the players new it and so did the fans. The atmosphere was just not there in anyway shape or form....apart from the cheer when we finally got a penalty for offside. Six again rule still baffles me. Forward passes missed by the touch judges and referee when it is a clear forward pass. I think we got dragged back for one and nothing given for us. Wigan are an exceptional side, strength in depth etc, but they do also know how to lie on at the play the ball and throw the ball forward and are constantly offside at the play the ball....just seem to get away with it. We are not quick enough at the play the ball and our forwards are just not big enough. I thought our wingers were poor, Sneyd was injured first half and should have come off then....Mellor to start at 6 for me and not bothered who plays 9. The only forward we have with any size is King V and he wasnt on the field so will always struggle near the line. Oh I know Partington scored the try but he would be best lining up with the Salford players than standing with the Wigan lot complaining about the play the ball.

Wigan were just too good yesterday and in so exposed our frailties.
Yup we know it, it’s a limited pack against quality. It’s an apparent reduction of guile and wit in the halves and general feeling of knackerness.
I can not say Grant had a wholly satisfactory game. Picky at some times, other occasions oblivious. Especially against a very well coached Wigan side that warps the rules on lying on at the tackle, staying onside and playing miraculous ‘horizontal’ passes.
But hey we were well beaten. Not spoken in here was that rain. Pretty much suppressed play at times.
Moving on. Really looking forward to London. You just have to hope don’t you?

If you don't have Hope, then you get bitter, as said by Frankie Howerd in 1988. " If you dont get Boddies, you'll just get Bitter." Titter ye not’
