There seems an issue with Nofu for me…seems fit, never got involved, never had the ball, seemed isolated…can’t think of anything good he did as a player of his ability playing ATeam rugby…v strange Might be illness, injury…but all v odd But re A Team and players with Squad Numbers….why nothing on the website re fixtures, results, names, videos…missing a trick…I and a few others would go down occasionally and it’d create interest. Or don’t I know where to look? No Sidlow in the Team🤣 Nofa played yesterday and was solid enough in the Reserves. He was vocal and shouting, Rowley was watching. It is worth noting some of our reserves are ex Wigan and Saints youngsters let go by their clubs at 19/20. We need to progress some of these players in our 1st team squad. Connell seems to have the ability and is already in our squad, Purcell the 6 also has some talent. I also like the look of our right centre who was at Wigan until the age of 20. Its worth watching these lads play and supporting the Supporters Trust fund raisers.

McDonald amazing of course, seems to be fitting in the structure as well…questioned why he was bought…but a beast, was really wrong I can’t understand Brierleys positioning at times…doesn’t cover across th3 back line Th3 Swift try, he seems to be day dreaming, unaware of the threat and way out of position….Lolohea try down the middle nowhere to be seen, Bibby try no cover across the back. He’s our last line of defence but… Did have a good first hour tho…don’t understand it Was Nofu around….maybe not fitting in Spot on JJR regarding Brierley he leaks points, he was not at home for the Williams try v Wire and was AWOL when Tui scored from the PTB that is unforgiveable. His attacking threat is fantastic his defence poor when defending kicks and as last man positionally.

Still a win is a win, we were poor the last 20 mins, Olmomdroyd was excellent again and Partington again got through work. Our centres must be the best pair in the league. I thought we were much better with Cust at 9 then Mellor, Joe seemed to have to run a bit from the PTB to then pass it, Cust seemed more dynamic. Be interesting v Leigh with no Mellor or Bourouh.

We were truly excellent for an hour, then for whatever reason were overwhelmed. This seems to be a regular issue of this team struggling at the end of play. Thankfully they are placing themselves in a position of strength but there is something here. Think Wigan, Leigh, KR and Friday.
Mental or physical it is correctable and let’s be all honest. Joint top is not bad. As it stands, based on being 6th would be 0.5 pts or in other words a mere 0.7 pts from gaining an A grading. Which surely would be achieved via the Stadium deal.
Forward and onwards.🤟👹👍

Maybe it’s when teams realise their structured play can’t break down our defence and we struggle defending when the opposition start throwing caution to the wind.

I think the drop of is probably physical. I think its really noticeable that big props and nippy players in the opposition come to the fore when we have struggled at the end of the game. It's that lack of a couple of big props that is the possible missing ingredient. We are basically running ourselves into the ground. Then a big guy comes on and it's a physical challenge late on.

I say this most weeks. The physicality late in games takes a toll. But that’s the downfall of a small group. Whilst small though, it’s a great set we’ve got IMO. A coach and group we can be proud of and let’s see where we end up.

Yes I take on board about the squad size and with the resources at hand we do really well, but I am not taking that as an excuse for the last twenty minutes last Friday If we could go back and put Kenny Gill at stand off having given him six months to get fit he would be playing this game in his carpet slippers are but people will be saying it's harder now,I am not having that I was talking a while back with someone who played at the highest level in the sixties and seventies I said to him well people say the game is harder now,he started laughing.

If we’re being honest it is harder no in some ways it’s faster the players are a lot bigger and most who played in the past wouldn’t last 10 minutes now but most players now would struggle back then it’s just so different

It was far tougher in the 60s but it’s a lot lot faster now, everyone is a tuned athlete…few smokers and heavy drinkers but a few druggies. The constant speed and hits are sensational. 700+ tackles per match, no resting in old style scrums but 8 interchanges and no mud baths
But it was work all day train twice a week, travel in slow coaches on slow roads, and play a load of matches at Christmas , N Year and Easter…I think the players and the game was a lot tougher then as was life in general….60+ years ago 😩

And players like Kenny Gill and Paul Shaw were fair game for late hits to the head. Those players doing the hitting would be driven out of the game now.
