Glad we are not playing Wigan the form they are in today.

I think they would've won no matter who they played today.
The way the game played out was far too one sided.
I also realised what is poor now and why I'm not as happy with the game as I used to be, as well!

I see Mikey won MOS so obviously sportsmanship isn't a factor in the decisions on voting!

I see Mikey won MOS so obviously sportsmanship isn't a factor in the decisions on voting! I think having a chip on both his shoulders helps with his balance. I don't see enough RL to have an opinion on things like MOS. Rely on short clips and the occasional game on BBC to see anything other than a SRD game.

Based on ability and his season generally when playing he's excellent but there are other sides to his game that only his teams' fans could be happy with.

The fact that Catalan are being made to pat the traveling expenses of all the other SL sides is an indication of two things: their wish to get rid of the Dragons and why RL remains a small sport with such small minded decisions.
It also shows their lack of courage in that they won't just throw the Dragons out in, at least, an open and honest way.
You may agree with them but the outcome is, yet again, a smaller sport when the complaint from everyone is how small the sport remains and how little expansion there has been.

Forgive me though mate, isnt that the trade off that allows them to arrange their own TV deal? If so I assume that is the a net gain for them and a win win for both the RFL and the wider Super League not having to foot a large bill that they can ill afford, and Catalan gaining money from the separate TV rights. Moreover than that they simply couldnt continue to exist in their current guise as the perrenial winner of a largely Semi Pro French League, in which case their very existence is dependant on Super League, so in many ways its the least they can do. Apologies if im missing the point, or my assumptions are wrong, but while I completely agree that expansion opportunities are regularly missed, and that the sport in general is far too insular and unambitious, I dont really think that this is an example of any of that. If anything it smacks of unsually smart business by the RFL for once to me.

They're being treated differently from every other SL side, and it's only smart business if you don't count them as part of the whole organisation. This is little more that encouragement to leave and also prevents them from signing players. They're not allowed a vote in the set up but are a victim of its decisions. TBH I think it won't be long before they're forced to leave.
If you're not a fan this won't matter to you or you'll celebrate. It will make the French RL world realise that RU has been right about RL all along though.

But they are different from every other Super League side, whilst they dont get a "Vote" on League matters they have always operated under this apparent handicap and found it tenable, in return they get to operate outside of their country in a competition that essentially allows them to exist. They get to negotiate and benefit from their own unique TV deal, they basically have first pick of an entire country of talent. They also benefit from a far more enticing climate and lifestyle for our antipodean cousins and find it much easier to recruit from the NRL as a result. The current estimated costs of the change are around 400000 Euros, even if extra money wasnt available to cover this and it had to come out of their Cap spend they would still have a larger salary spend than us. You see this as them being forced out, I see this as a situation where in the past they got all the advantage from our current dynamic but now its time that Super League as a whole got some thing back. Before we wail and Gnash our Teeth lamenting for Catalan lets have a look at their recruitment for next year when they will be apparently hamstrung financially. Tevita Pangai Junior, Luke Keary, Elliott Whitehead, Nick Cotric, Tommy Makinson. Pretty much anyone of those would be a marquee signing for us, and thats not forgetting Olly Partington as well. Forgive me but Im not gonna cry myself to sleep tonight for Catalan, they seem to be doing just fine. Were gon a have to agree to disagree on this one I think mate.

The role of a strong Catalan side is more than simply making up the numbers and they're not a cash cow for SL either. Now the choice is quite simple given the way things work against RL in France: Either we have a stronger french RL set up or it disappears altogether.
Taking your cash items were London ever asked to pay the expenses of all the SL clubs travelling there? Are SRD or any other SL side going to be asked to fund the Dragons travel to England which they do every other match? This economic argument is smoke and mirrors for getting rid and I've no doubt it will happen sooner rather than later, so that when there is one less country playing RL there'll little point in saying anything about expansion or for the good of the sport as a whole. The expexctations on all SL clubs should be exactly the same.

Authorities 🚓 in Trafford Salford, Manchester, have asked for help in locating a missing person. He didn't turn up for his job earlier. He was last seen wearing a red and white top and goes by the name of Mikey Lewis.

Up to the time of this post it's looking like Wakey v Bradford for promotion so more M62 travel on the cards!
And all the best for Swinton tonight too!

Well, Toulouse managed to comeback and win.
They'll be much wailing, gnashing of teeth and renting of garments on the Total RL tonight.
Well done T O !
