J964, good idea but you can’t just ask companies for money, or you can but you won5 get any where…it’s relationship development, a very skilled process; it was part of my responsibility for many years and it’s a process’s that takes time It amuses me when people say they’ve asked Fred Done and many others , but why should he and others like him give when he’s asked everyday for money,..it’s naive and will never maximise assets It’s a very specialised area of work and amateurs( not meant to insult) asking for funds might get a little but generally fail for the big bucks and often destroy the marketplace. That’s why the Club doesn’t generate much income this way…everybody thinks it’s easy but believe me you have to do it in the right way…I’ve been v successful but in the early days failed many many times.

Spot on you need to be professional about it,and offer something in return ( usually publicity in newmarkets) and as a professional you will appreciate this. But the point was let's not be parochial, let's THINK about a wider( much wider) demographic! Trying to run RL clubs outside traditional areas when union band you also teaches you to be thick skinned and persistent ( some even say stubon).

Lots of ideas J but you have to you have to tie in with the Clubs wider strategy if they have one…got to be done as a composite, not shooting off at tangents grasping at things as they appear to survive..a mid term partnership process …and is the Club up to it; can it deliver…as one or two on here have said has the Club delivered to its shareholders?
But good thoughts mate

Unfortunately, it would seem that we are going to have Featherstone in the Superleague in 2024.😢, A town with no more than fourteen thousand residents. If you were a were a Well-known business in the UK & Mainland Europe Would you spend money sponsoring a team whose exposure of their brand is, for example, on a cold, wet evening at the end of February-beginning of March??. But for many rugby-league supporters a trip to Featherstone is something to look forward to. I'd rather pay a lot more money to visit London for a match than these Traditional Heartlands teams & supporters that believe they are Somehow, have a right to be in the Superleague even though it's a lifetime since they've been a big name.

Let's hope London get promoted then. A home game for me! Friday night games are a nightmare, traffic going up, dodge the jam, back down dodge night closures of motorway (how much repair do they need!). Which idiot shut A1m, M1, M11 on same night!!!! And they say it's M62 corridor. Sunday better but the worst thing is late changes of KO times/ days

The Central Line is always a nightmare... roasting in the summer and freezing in the winter. Whereas the Jubilee Line is roasting all year round

Well the club had now released a statement re finances and its nit pretty a £300000 shortfall on expected income and thanks to the interventions of the Tory councillors a hold up in applying for funding all meaning we have to sell players. IMG should have been flirted once they failed with the TV deal which now screwsup the whole finances of the League

The pricks at the RFL have cut all RFL funding by 300k thus we have a cashflow issue moving into 2024. The upshot is we have no choice we will have to sell players to cover costs. The RFL have known about the funding shortfall for months and told the club a couple of weeks ago. They are killing the game with this IMG Bullshit and their inability to run a business.

Yeah it's grim reading. We have to keep hold of Brodie though and build the team around him and only let him go when an Aus team comes in with big money.
Does anyone know what the situation is with the £1m funding from the government which we've applied for to match the money raised via the stakeholder scheme?

Does anyone know what the situation is with the £1m funding from the government which we've applied for to match the money raised via the stakeholder scheme? I think the letter mentions that they are waiting on the Stadium outcome before they can proceed with the application, meaning that it's likely that they'll miss the October window for submission.
