I must admit, I'm surprised PR is nominated. I think he's done well with what he had, but there is more worthy contenders that have missed out in my opinion. Pretty sure the coach of the year is selected by the coaches of all other SL clubs so obviously got. Number of votes from his peers! |

So peters at hull kr gets to challenge cup final and finished fourth and we finish 7th losing more than we won?make it make sense! I agree with LH Red Willie Peters should be in here or McNamara. For me coach of the season is Matt Peet or Adrian Lam. |

Meh, not to fussed by this news. We should be looking for better in that position, but he's pretty steady. Not gonna set the world on fire, but also I'd imagine not gonna cost to much.
Hopefully he will just be a squad player if recruitment goes well.
But if not , its not the end of the world. Hope he kicks on though and cam back to better form (dependant upon him getting more ball in space next year i guess)

As stated above Cross a good squad player…defence a bit suspect..but he was trying a bit more this year.

Not strictly news but just in case people have missed it and are now ignoring the prediction competition thread, we are doing a playoff bracket. Only four entries so far.
And Russ, I agree on our defensive structure. Our agressive umbrella defence isn't necessary in certain areas of he pitch, especially when you have plenty of space in behind you to hold, slide, and if necessary go backwards so they run out of room are the whole defence slides. Sometimes players also need to trust their teammates to make a one-v-one tackle. Ok when you're on your line you need to be more agressive as you can backup and in a one-v-one tackle a player is more likely to get their arm out and score a try.
