Agree with Russ on this, 22 is nonsense and not the correct number , as current size is 25. Last year we started with 28, lost sarge, lannon and longstaff early to mid season. Greenwood played one match so was useless. We've recruited alright i think, we need a few more bodies, but let's not forget if the stadium thing happens before end of March, are we not expecting some mid season signings as well? I'm okay where we are currently, if we get another prop and can decide whT happening with burgess I'm reasonably confident going into the season. Rather than wallowing in negativity, let's start the new year on a positive shall we. Am refreshed and looking forward to it now A bit of positivity is great but believe it or not your on a forum where you’ll have to read different opinions to your own. If we stay fit we should end up mid table but with a lot of older injury prone players in the small squad it’s reasonable to be cautious of where will win end up. Feel like some forget every other team has recruited aswell

But then again we could lose every game and under img nothing will happen. You can see with London’s recruitment there not bothering this year as they will go down either way which really takes something out of this season

Otherwise qhats the point of following the sport/team? Surely its the hope that kills you, not grinding yourself down? Chin up lad, its rugby lets enjoy it and just think in a few more weeks and we cN get into the stadium and have a few drinks and cheer on the lads.

I’m abit of a pessimistic person when it comes to Salford😂 to many years of nonsense I’ll be back into it when we’re back. Shame we not playing a champ team in pre season this year that’s always fun

Most of this is not realistic though it's complete close season panic !
Stating that 22 is around twenty-five is worry button stuff.
Most of this "realism" is based on incorrect number, silly suposition and worst case scenarios. There are small elements of truth being blown out of all proportion and coming out with a "We'll fall off the edge of the World!" result.
We can't ignore injury records but they are yesterday's news when all's said and done.
If Leeds and whoever we play for the five games after that tear us apart that's when we need to moan and groan, become hysterical and sound the alarms.
We will have to agree to disagree on this one I don’t think the squad is big enough or with enough depth. Only time will tell We're not disgreeing on the most important things though: we would all like more signings, with more players in the squad we would be healthier for the campaign.
All we've disagreed about is how it's presented on here.
Most clubs have two teams worth of players which means they're fine even if a force 6 earthquake takes place. This is also one of the main reasons why SL is not as competitive as it should be. The people who moan most about competitiveness are the ones hoarding a whole etra side!

It’s a strange situation as we brought in the cap to stop this but with all the loop holes and so on it’s not worked. Anyone know how the young prop Jamie pyre who I assume is on a trail is getting on

I've said often too many disapointments as well.
We should always be playing the Lions and Fax every close season, not because we would beat them but simply because they're who they are!

Ye saints is a mad one for first pre season, I imagine Swinton behind closed doors will happen. We have a new half and 9 so game time is key

Why the Lions should be behind closed doors is beyond me .......

Swinton behind closed doors isn’t official just a thought. I go to the gym at the stadium and we’ve done a few opposed sessions against them

There is a new team to fit together, seems Saints will be our only pre season friendly we can watch. I do not have an issue with this, January will be busy. There will be warm up games, the warm weather training camp which was advertised and the season launch on 27th Jan. Priority for the club is pushing more Season Tickets, I think they have one Exec box left to sell also - so big commercial focus too off field.

So, all in all, we could do with/need a bit of on field news and excitement!

Well Sam Kasiano will not be coming, Wire fans thinks he is carrying an arm injury and has been released early. If that is the case and we are still in for a Prop Blease might be looking at Aussie imports Morgan Grant or Jordan Boyle. Other than that will Wigan loan Harvie Hill?
As for Wingers we either keep Burgess or twist with Lee Kershaw.

If he’s available we will sign Kershaw when we are out of Special Measures with the RFL.
