I am not getting into an argument about stronger or weaker Because the game is played on grass not paper. Leeds have spent a shed load of money and look at them at any other club and Hetherington is toast I think with a bit of luck we finish half way and that will be a good season Is there an argument on here? Great ... Fight, fight, fight!
I agree about the game being played on the paddock.
Yeah Leeds! I think the coach would've gone almost anywhere else, not sure about Hetherington taking the rap.
Finish half way? Not alot to look forward to then,eh? Which is pretty much what the Sennas have been saying.

No argument just people discussing opinions which is exactly what a forum is all about

Although I can understand your thinking here, I always hope/think GF before a ball moves in anger and am always grateful if we're not relegated when we get to the season's end.
I find pessimism at this stage bordering self-fulfilling prophecy.
Some of the views about the quality of the side seem far too negative.
I know as SRD we are prone to expecting the worst but it's a bit of a curse to be depressed before the season's even begun.

Are squad is worse than last year and most sides have improved call it pessimistic but it’s more realistic

The BBC are backward in terms of RL Broadcasting.
On a separate note plenty of other SL Teams fans are suggesting we will struggle this season especially Cas who have on the whole signed average players. Our In's and Out's is interesting - we've lost two excellent players (Sold to Leeds) but on the whole signed much better than in 2023 on paper, clearly Sio going was unexpected but at 32/33 he was reaching the end of his time at Salford anyhow.
Ins: Nene Macdonald (Leeds), Ethan Ryan (Hull KR), Matty Foster (St Helens), Kai Morgan (Leeds), Cade Cust & Joe Shorrocks (both Wigan), Chris Hankinson (Featherstone), Joe Mellor (Leigh) - Possibles - Lee Kershaw and a Prop.
Outs: Matty Costello (Barrow), Rhys Williams (Swinton), James Greenwood (Barrow), Brodie Croft & Andy Ackers (both Leeds), Danny Addy (Featherstone), Ken Sio (released on compassionate grounds), Jorge Cabral (North Wales Crusaders)
If we can get a Winger and Prop over the line I am confident we will be at least mid table this season. As I have said before I was underwhelmed with the signing of Cust at 6 but having watched him in a training match I have high hopes he with Shorrocks versatility will get our backline firing. The Croft cut inside to Watkins had become a telegraphed play, as had other plays, I see change as a positive this season.

Always good to see others opinions but I think we forgot we struggled this year and this year are depth is truly dreadful which I think will be are downfall. The 17 is a good mid table side but below that we struggle. Injures and bans will determine are season. It’s difficult to judge but I’d say were above cas and London but there’s been a lot of recruitment

Are squad is worse than last year and most sides have improved call it pessimistic but it’s more realistic I think our squad has weaknesses that we didn't have last year but there are also strengths that were missing last season.
Just one example is Nene and Ryan can both fill in, in a variety of backline positions so the variations are better now.

If all fit a back line with Lafai nene cross and Ryan is dangerous, Shorrocks should help with ball distribution, just hope the pack can step up and get us on the front foot

I think Joe Mellor is the best signing of the lot. Confident we will be OK.

I think Joe Mellor is the best signing of the lot. Confident we will be OK. Happy New Year everyone on DevilTalk. I think Mellor's distribution will mean we move the ball much quicker, Ackers had a tendency to run from the PTB. Our strike is still in the centres and on the wings. I think change is positive also, at times last year our attack was dire and easy to defend against. All too often Croft would get the ball, become isolated and end up just running at the line, we played at times as individuals.

I think Joe Mellor is the best signing of the lot. Confident we will be OK. I understand why when people are so invested in the club that they get the jitters but it's always best to leave that until SRD are playing on the pitch.
In other news
It's about Leigh but the difference is Dexy takes to the airwaves to push the powers that be along the way.
Being a quiet club with a quiet administration does have drawbacks.
Joe Mellor is a terrific signing and so is Joe Shorrocks, Cade, Nene, Ethan, Hankinson and Matty Foster but I think the loss of icon Crofty coloured things for some. I have a feeling Kai Morgan might be a real find as well.
