Having listened to radio Manchester's interview with Dr Koukash, I'm amazed by his assertion that half of Salford season ticket holders (approx 850 supporters) didn't attend the Huddersfield game. The attendance figure for last Friday's match suggests that not many of them returned, either. Given the vastly improved standard of the team this season, I find it incredible that such obviously loyal supporters are choosing not to go having paid for their seat, and in such numbers.

The attendance for the Cas game was ~2200, which was 300 more than the Huddersfield game and Cas didn't bring as much travelling support, so it was a bit better than the previous week. Still, the lack of returning fans is worrying. I think a lot of half-hearted fans think that there isn't much to play for and we're destined for the Middle 8's, but hopefully they will return for those home games. I think once we get it right on the pitch and we're at the right end of the table our support will get bigger. It just seems like there's always something going on off the pitch that hinders out potential to generate big turnouts. It's a shame.

The reduced ticket prices may also have helped for the Cas game. Yes, I do think that the off-field issues and subsequent negative press must put people off from attending. MK's comments about the club having lost its identity were also very interesting. Success on the field, stability off it and a trip to Wembley would help!
