Signed for Hull on a three-year deal starting next year. Gutted to see him leave, but trust Sheens to bring in someone as good, if not better. Link

If I'm honest worrying that, we need to be keeping English/British talent not letting it go. The only plus for me is that it means Evalds gets an opportunity of more game time.

Josh has been a great player for us; probably the best signing we've made in the past few years. Hopefully George doesn't follow him out of the club!

He's been steady and a great find but his defence has always been a bit suspect. If they've let him go maybe Sheens already has a replacement? He has also never hid the fact he hates the commuting and won't move from Yorkshire, but fair do's to him if he feels he's progressing his career. Koukash has tweeted blaming the cap for not allowing them to pay players their worth so it's either a smoke screen or money driven, not sure how hull are keeping all these stars under the cap as the squad is a lot more expensive than ours.

Oh well. Bit disappointed, but if his contract is up and he decides to leave there's little the Club can do. We're pretty lucky at the moment in the fact that we have an embarrassment of riches to cover his departure.

Getting upset about used to be's is silly when he's gone he's gone! Look forward to the replacement. Totally agree. Still a little disappointed but it'll pass. Players come and go but it's the Club that I support, so I look forward to who may come in to replace him or who may come in due to salary being freed-up. Careers are short and I wish him well.

Like the guy and stats going forward show he has done a job for us in attack. However, prone to some howlers in defence (Huddersfield away this season) and for me a Centre should be like Shenton or closer to home Moon when Broughton dined out on him all 2012 as the service to the wings is/was commonplace, something that both Griffin and S'au dont always offer us, particularly with lads like Carney and Vidot on the Edges to be fed. This is why I prefer Josh Jones as he offers this more. Also Sheens has stated previously that he see's Evalds as a centre so this gives him a chance to earn his spot back in the team, in the position the outgoing Aus head coach rates will be his best position.

Agree with what you're saying about Jones, Ayresrock. We look a lot tighter when he plays there, both in defense and attack. If the former Australia coach reckons Evalds to be a centre then I trust his judgement. Tbh, I'm happy seeing him at centre or wing as he's a lad who knows how to find the try line. Losing Griffin is less of a blow when we have decent quality already, ready to step in. It also frees-up cash to spend elsewhere which can only be a good thing.

Should stand to reason that Evalds being a full back by trade has good defensive qualities, he also has that knack of being in the right place at the right time which as anyone who has played the game knows is not something you can learn.
As it stands for backs next season we have GOB. Evalds. Sau. Vidot. Carney. Bibby. Johnson. MCB. Jones.
When you think GOB can cover halves/hooker, Evalds can play right along the back line and Jones can play in the pack that's not a bad squad, still though think there might be a replacement for Griffin brought in and that one of MCB/Johnson will move on as both are to good to be bit part players week in week out.

Is Junior contracted for next season ? I thought it was only a one year extension he signed for this year. Wouldn't be surprised if people were after him too the way he's played this year.

Sau definitely the most improved player this season so far. He's been decent for us before, but he has really knuckled-down, dropped weight but not strength or power this season. Would love to keep him around for another year or two.

Yeah I really want to argue the toss with Tim about where players best positions might be I think I'll write to him now so he can put my selections in place for the next match

Great news in the decision to offload Josh Griffin. He's scored some vital tries for us in the earliest periods of this season but has also had some howlers within our defensive structures which are what I think is the making of his departure. Glad to see Sheens's offloading the deadwood who are holding the team back in certain areas. If Josh isn't replaced I'd be only too glad to see the other Josh taking one of the Centre rolls for next season. Or it would be great to see MCB returning from injury and putting in a big offseason to consolidate a Three-quarter place. Last chance saloon can inspire a resurgence in effort and enthusiasm in the hope of earning a new contract Sa'u being the prime example of this resurgence. I hear Wigan are sniffing around MCB, if true expect another outgoing Centre with a minimum of One coming into the fold.
I wish Josh All The Best and hopefully, Radford won't fix or adapt his defensive Brain Farts which we'll exploit next year.
